IPL 2018: Final ball sixes on winning occasions
Nerve-biting cricket is perhaps the bread and butter of the IPL. Here is a look at a few players who have sealed victory for their sides with a six.
6. Dwayne Bravo (CSK) vs Kolkata Knight Riders (2012)
Kolkata Knight Riders posted a decent 159 runs batting first and their bowlers did a fantastic job to restrict the run flow in the second innings. Chennai needed 9 runs off the final over with MS Dhoni at one end. The game seemed to be going just one way, but Rajat Bhatia added life back to the game by sending the greatest ever finisher back to the pavilion.
He gave away just three runs off the next three balls and Chennai needed a whopping five runs off the final ball. Dwayne Bravo was the man on strike with a huge task cut out. Eventually, Bhatia bowled a low full toss and Bravo hit it powerfully to just about send it over the long-on fence. That game kept CSK alive in the tournament and eventually, these both sides played the final at the same venue where the KKR lifted their first IPL trophy.
