While it was clear that the first finalist was the Chennai Super Kings, after their outstanding performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the qualifier game, it was unsure who would face Sunrisers in the eliminator on the 25th of May.

A day after Chennai Super Kings win against Sunrisers and a few hours before Kolkata Knight Riders took on the Rajasthan Royals, a video from Hotstar showed that the finals would be played between the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Chennai Super Kings.

An advertisement showing KKR vs CSK in the finals of the tournament went viral, with fans suggesting that the league is fixed. According to the Indian Express, they could not get any further comments on the same from the Hotstar team.

The video was published way before KKR’s 25 run win against the Rajasthan Royals in the eliminator against Rajasthan Royals. Further after defeating the Royals, the Knight Riders have a tough task in hand, against the well-determined and polished Sunrisers Hyderabad outfit.

Sunrisers fell short of a victory against Super Kings:

Sunrisers fell just short of a massive victory against the Chennai Super Kings and would be hoping that their batsmen come to the party if they want to stand a chance at winning the game against the Knight Riders. After their poor start in the IPL this season, Dinesh Karthik’s men have come to the fore, and have played consistently good cricket against mighty oppositions.

Despite being at 56/4, the Knight Riders never gave up and finished up with 169 runs on a pitch which had a good turn for the spinners. 169 was a tricky total for the away side, as their batsmen have only played a single game together with so many changes in the playing XI.

Against Sunrisers, if KKR has a similar start, it is almost but certain that the Sunrisers bowlers would give no opportunities for the KKR batsmen to strike and would choke the middle order with some tidy overs. However, if the video is true and right, we may well see a final clash between the Super Kings and the Knight Riders in Mumbai.
