Imran Tahir has been among the most sought-after bowlers in international cricket. Having played a majority of cricket in Pakistan, however, moved to South Africa owing to lack of opportunities in his birthplace. Thereafter, he has been an integral part of the Proteas lineup, especially limited overs cricket. The leg-spin bowler has also been a grand success in domestic T20 leagues across the globe.

He recently became the third bowler after Mohammed Amir and Junaid Khan to bag a hat-trick in the three seasons of the Pakistan Super League. He achieved the feat representing the Multan Sultans against the Quetta Gladiators, something that makes it his first hat-trick in subcontinental tournaments. Meanwhile, it was also Tahir’s maiden hat-trick in the subcontinent. The wrist-spinner has recently been rewarded with a lucrative deal in the Indian Premier League.

He has been bagged for INR 1 crore by the Chennai Super Kings in the auction at Bangalore. Recently, the franchise took to social media platform Twitter and congratulated the leggie on his stupendous achievement.

Here’s the Tweet by CSK

Tahir was quick to spot the message and reverted with a hilarious reply.

Tahir’s IPL stints

Imran Tahir made his debut in the IPL in 2014 playing for the Delhi Daredevils when he was drafted in by the franchise as a replacement of Nathan Courter Nile. He played in 2015 as well for the Daredevils. However, he was snapped up by the Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017 when he was roped in for an injured Mitchell Marsh and has played a couple of seasons for them.

Chennai Super Kings will be the leg-spinner’s third franchise in the cash-rich tournament. CSK have tasted success ever since the inception of the tournament. However, they were handed a two-year suspension following match-fixing scandals along with Rajasthan Royals. The franchise will now be looking to make amends and reinstate their authority in the domestic league.
