In the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), along with the experienced and established international cricketers, many young and uncapped players will also be aiming to make their presence felt. Many Under-19 boys and other young players both Indian as well as from the overseas nations will be featuring in the IPL roaster for their respective franchises.
This upcoming season will certainly be a crucial passage for Mumbai Indians (MI) all-rounder Krunal Pandya, who will be aiming for a breakthrough season with both the bat and the ball and to boost his chances of receiving a call-up to the Indian team.
Krunal adds a new trait to his new MI jersey
In the upcoming edition of the IPL, Krunal will be seen supporting a new name at the back of his jersey, which might prove to be lucky enough to have a successful season. The spin all-rounder posted a picture of his new MI jersey which had his name as ‘KRUNALL’ on Twitter.
He will also be taking the field in the global Twenty20 tournament with a new jersey number as Krunal will be guarding the number ’24’, whereas he supported the ’25’ number in the previous seasons. Some sources suggest that the left-arm spinner has brought these changes in his jersey because of his love for numerology cultures and to improve his chances of success this year.
The different challenges and opportunities lined-up for Krunal
Krunal was retained by the Mumbai franchise in the recent auction through the Right to Match (RTM) card option for a whopping rate of INR 8.8 crores. He has scored 480 runs in 25 matches at an explosive strike rate of 158.42 and has also scalped 16 wickets with an impressive economy of 7.15.
But due to injuries and other reasons, he has not been much in the reckoning after some great performances in the last two editions. Thus, the elder Pandya brother will be looking forward to having a massive outing in the upcoming season to get a golden spot on the national side.
