Chennai Super Kings (CSK) has been among the most popular teams in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Following the two-year suspension, the franchise is making a comeback to the mega event. Also, their players are also known for shown funny antics on the field. Dwayne Bravo breaks into his impromptu dance moves to celebrate a dismissal or a victory.
Meanwhile, Mark Wood, the England fast bowler, has also expressed his wish to add something different from the franchise. “It’s exciting, I don’t know what I’m going into. It could be a little manic and crazy – but I guess that will fit in with me quite nicely.” Wood was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. The pacer was bagged at his base price by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the auction of the T20 league.
An inconsistent form thus far for Mark Wood
Mark Wood recently played in the Test series against New Zealand. He played one Test at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch where he had shown excellent form, especially with the willow. He scored a couple of useful half-centuries lower down the order. Nevertheless, he couldn’t quite make the same impact with the red cherry and had to work hard for his couple of wickets.
Meanwhile, he might play alongside Sam Billings, his English teammate in the Mahendra Singh Dhoni-captained franchise. The team couldn’t participate in the last couple of years owing to match-fixing scandals. Nevertheless, CSK would be wishing to reinstate their authority in the cash-rich league. Meanwhile, Wood would be hoping to perform decently in the event.
The English cricketer made his debut against Ireland in 2015. However, he hasn’t been able to cement his position in the national team. A few excellent spells or a couple of impressive outings with the willow might just work wonders for Wood.
