IPL 2018, Match 14: Mumbai Indians vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – 10 best memes/gifs

It was routine stuff for the RCB fans last night in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as their bowling line-up put on an extraordinarily poor performance again which meant despite the heroics of the skipper Virat Kohli later, they couldn’t bounce back in the game against the Mumbai Indians and were reduced to yet another loss, their third in the tournament.

Winning the toss and bowling first, Umesh Yadav actually gave RCB a dream start as he knocked over Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan on consecutive deliveries, but the visitors couldn’t tighten the snooze from there, even though there was a little bit of help available for the fast bowlers early on.

The likes of Chris Woakes who is a reputed international name would be really disappointed with the areas and direction he bowled in as he offered easy scoring opportunities to the Mumbai batsmen who converted them and released all the pressure of those two early wickets.

The spinners in the middle overs were not spot on either as they bowled defensive lines rather than trying to operate with the mindset of taking wickets and it all fell apart for RCB very-very quickly. The death bowling was not their strongest forte anyway and the way they were tonked in the end overs by a well-set Rohit Sharma was hardly a surprise.

Although batting conditions were easy during the chase with the pitch being flat and a little bit of dew around, chasing something in excess of 200 is never a cake-walk for any team especially when 2 or 3 batsmen don’t stand up and it comes down to one batsman playing a lone hand.  While Kohli’s standard of stroke-play was right out of the top drawer, not enough support from the other end meant it went in vain.
