Both desperately need a victory to resurrect their derailed campaign.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Delhi Daredevils (DD) must be desperate to get some wins under their belt. They have strained with their team combinations, which hasn’t helped their cause of come out trumps in their earlier games. The franchises won one game each and both the games went right to the wire from a stage where they could easily have lost.
Both are languishing at the bottom of the table and have slumped perilously. The Challengers would be playing at home and yet again, the onus would be on the Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to shepherd the team and get their campaign back on track. Their bowlers have been erratic, which has created additional pressure on their batsmen.
Delhi bowlers haven’t had much to cheer as they have leaked runs, much to the agony of the franchise. Their batting performed well against Mumbai Indians, however, apart from that, they haven’t quite dished out comprehensive efforts. Subsequently, the pressure built on them and they were restricted by the opposition bowlers.
Minimum chances of rain
According to reports in Accu Weather, chances of rain are bleak during the game. despite clouds looming large over the M.Chinnaswamy, the venue for the match. However, the game has a slender chance of getting delayed by a wet outfield as heavy showers and thunderstorms are forecasted from 1 pm to 4 pm, which might even continue till 6 pm in the evening.
However, bearing in mind the drainage system at the ground, a halt in play can be ruled out to a certain extent. The weather is expected to be cool throughout the game, which is a comforting prospect for the cricketers.
Overall verdict: A full game is expected, provided the turf survives the wrath of the rain in the afternoon. Both teams would wish for a couple of more points in their kitty and get their campaign back on track.
