The Sunrisers Hyderabad‘s bowling attack continues to inspire them to wins as they brought an end to KXIP’s winning streak by defending 132. The home side lost three wickets before 5th over before Manish Pandey anchored the innings with a 54-run knock helping SRH to finish with 132/6. Kings XI Punjab look set to make it five in five as Chris Gayle and KL Rahul registered their 4th consecutive fifty-plus stand. Things kept getting worse for KXIP once Rashid Khan stepped in as the visiting side lost their ten wickets for 54 runs to lose the game by 13 runs.

4 – Ankit Rajpoot‘s 5-wicket haul is the 4th in the IPL at the RGIC Stadium in Hyderabad. No other venue recorded more 5-wicket hauls in IPL. Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla witnessed three 5-wicket hauls in the IPL.
5/14 – The 5/14 by Ankit Rajpoot are the 2nd best bowling figures to be on the losing side in the IPL. Adam Zampa recorded figures of 6/19 for RPS in 2016 which was also against SRH. The 3rd best figures on the losing side in the IPL are by James Faulkner (5/16 in 2013) also against SRH in Hyderabad.
5/14 – Ankit Rajpoot’s bowling figures of 5/14 are the 2nd best for an Indian pacer in the IPL. Ishant Sharma had figures of 5/12 while playing for DC against KTK in the 2011 edition. Rajpoot also became the first uncapped player to bag a 5-wicket haul in the IPL.
5/14 – Ankit Rajpoot registered the best bowling figures for Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. Dimitri Mascarenhas took 5/25 against PWI in the 2012 edition which was the only other 5-wicket haul for KXIP in the IPL.
48 – Manish Pandey‘s 48-ball fifty is the joint slowest fifty in the IPL for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Shikhar Dhawan also scored a 48-ball in the 2016 season against RPS in Hyderabad.
51 – Shakib Al Hasan completed 50 wickets in the IPL with the wicket of Mayank Agarwal. This was also Shakib’s 50th match in the IPL. He became the 5th foreign spinner to complete 50 wickets in the IPL.
119 – Kings XI Punjab’s total of 119 is the lowest all-out total in the IPL to include a fifty-run opening stand. No team in the past were bowled out under 150 in the IPL after a 50+ stand for the opening wicket.
132 – The 132-run total is the 2nd lowest total that Sunrisers have successfully defended in Hyderabad in the IPL. They defeated Pune Warriors in the 2013 edition while defending their total of 126/9 in Hyderabad.
