The Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) haven’t had the best of seasons thus far in the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, the Challengers are in a more desperate position as they have an inferior net-run rate than Mumbai, which might be a major detriment to their progress into the playoffs.
The franchise would also be looking to break their two-match losing streak at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium. On the contrary, Mumbai have been involved in some close encounters which they could have effortlessly won. They humbled the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) a couple of days ago, which would keep them in a good stead ahead of their upcoming game.
Last time around, Virat Kohli’s men floundered against the same opponents at the Wankhede Stadium from which they could never recover. The strip in Bangalore is expected to be batting-friendly and a run-fest can again be expected. Meanwhile, another defeat can bring down the curtains on the campaign of both teams in the tournament. MI and RCB are at the sixth and the seventh position in the table.
Rain not to interrupt
As per reports in Accuweather, chances of rain are bleak, which should be good news, both for the participants and the audience. The temperature would increase as the day progresses. However, as the sun says goodbye, the environment cools down. During the game, the temperature would hover around 25 degrees Celsius and 29 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, there would be a fair amount of cloud cover.
Overall verdict
Interruption isn’t expected and the teams would be hoping for the heavens to not open up as not getting full points can make a huge difference to their journies. Yesterday, it rained cats and dogs in Bangalore and the home crowd would want the rain to stay away and see their team stage a comeback.
