IPL 2018: Match 33, Kolkata Knight Riders vs Chennai Super Kings – Best memes/gifs

The Chennai Super Kings probably had their worst outing in IPL 11 last night as they were bulldozed by the Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens and lost their top position in the points table to the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Though both SRH and CSK have the same no. of points, the former inched ahead on the basis of the better net run rate, while the latter slipped down to no. 2.

Batting first on a slightly slower wicket of Eden Gardens, CSK got a good start as they have been getting regularly this tourney, but for once their middle order failed to capitalize and they ended up remaining about 10 runs short of the par score despite some lusty blows from the skipper MS Dhoni in the death.

While 177 was still enough to pose a challenge, CSK needed early wickets with the new ball to get themselves on the driver’s seat, but some really mediocre fielding upfront didn’t help their cause as Ravindra Jadeja dropped the dangerous Sunil Narine twice and the Caribbean left-hander collected some crucial boundaries in the power-play to push the visitors behind by a fair margin.

A couple of wickets in the middle overs brought CSK back into the game a touch, but the young Shubman Gill who was promoted in the batting order in the absence of Nitish Rana and the skipper Dinesh Karthik who has been in scintillating form of late made sure they didn’t give MS Dhoni’s boys any sniff as they stitched together a sensible and calculated partnership to drag KKR over the line.
