IPL 2018: Match 37, MI vs KKR- Weather Forecast
Mumbai will be in for another must-win encounter.
Updated - May 6, 2018 12:49 pm
The odds of the match between the Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are heavily stacked against the latter courtesy of their past record of 5-16 against Rohit Sharma’s men. Moreover, KKR have only a solitary victory in their kitty at the Wankhede Stadium, which tilts the contest further in favour of the home team ahead of today’s encounter.
However, on current form, both teams have an equal opportunity to turn each other over. The Knights have rolled over the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and the Chennai Super Kings (RCB) without dropping much sweat, which will keep them in a positive frame of mind. Mumbai, on the other hand, has struck form in their last game and would be keen to maintain their winning momentum.
The home team is currently standing on the brink of elimination and a defeat against Dinesh Karthik’s boys would virtually end their hopes of qualification. Meanwhile, another victory for KKR would strengthen their nomination for the playoffs. Nevertheless, more than the Knights, the Indians would be more desperate for a victory.
No chances of rain
The weather forecast for today’s afternoon encounter isn’t threatening by any means. The temperature would remain warm throughout the day and would hover around the 30 degrees Celsius to 32 degrees Celsius. The humidity won’t be taxing either with the numbers between 66 percent and 74 percent during the duration of the contest. There would be a cloud cover, however, it’s deemed to be harmless.
Mumbai Indians (MI) will definitely wish for a full game as every point will be equivalent to gold dust for them from now onwards. The pitch at the venue is renowned for producing run-fests and it won’t spring a surprise if the game pans out the same way. The bowlers are again expected to come under the pump of some lusty hitting.
