IPL 2018, Match 39: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bangalore – Best memes/gifs

The Royal Challengers Bangalore virtually got knocked out of IPL 11 after suffering their 7th loss in 10 games as they were beaten by the table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad by 5 runs at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium last night. It was another one of those games which were well and truly in RCB’s grip at one stage, but they just couldn’t keep their nerves in the latter stages and ended up messing it up.

While 147 was not an easy target to chase on the tricky Hyderabad surface especially after the way the hosts squeezed through the middle phase of the innings with their two world-class spinners Rashid Khan and Shakib Al Hasan, RCB was still in a strong position with 3 overs remaining as they just required 25 off those 18 deliveries with 5 wickets in hand.

It was a matter of two boundaries and the chase would have been down to run-a-ball, but Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddarth Kaul nailed their lengths perfectly on almost every delivery and made sure they didn’t give Mandeep Singh and Colin de Grandhomme, the two RCB batsmen at the crease at that time, any opportunity to get under the ball and send it to the fence.

However, as good as Hyderabad’s death bowling was, RCB would be sorely disappointed with the fact that they couldn’t find a way to put away a couple of those deliveries. There was not enough innovation or use of the crease from Mandeep and CDG to try and put the bowlers off their lengths. They kept setting themselves up for length balls which never came and the visitors eventually remained short of the target by 5 runs.

It was a poor batting performance from RCB and the Twitterati were right into them as the match concluded. There were a number of funny memes and gifs shared trolling RCB and their fans for having a horror of a season once again.
