It didn’t take long for the Kolkata Knight Riders to bounce back after losing a game by a record margin to the Mumbai Indians as they produced a top batting effort today against the Kings XI Punjab. KKR posted a huge total of 245/6 in their 20 overs thanks to a quick-fire innings from Sunil Narine and a 22-ball fifty from their captain Dinesh Karthik. The Kings were well in contention to chase the big score given the way KL Rahul started things. However, the three wickets Andre Russell picked in space of two overs turned the game towards his team.

Here we look at all the stats and numbers that were recorded during the run-feast at the Holkar Stadium:

3Andrew Tye became the 3rd player after Shadab Jakati (2009) and Munaf Patel (2012) to take 4-wicket hauls in consecutive IPL matches. Tye is also the 3rd player after Sandeep Sharma and Yusuf Abdulla to take two 4-fers in the IPL for Kings XI.

22 – Dinesh Karthik’s 22-ball fifty in this match is his fastest IPL fifty. His previous fastest came off 24 balls while playing for Kings XI Punjab against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in Indore only.

45 – Ravichandran Ashwin’s 45 in this match is his highest score in the IPL and his 2nd highest in the Twenty20 format. His highest T20 score of 46 came against RR during the CLT20 semis for CSK. Ashwin’s previous highest IPL score was 33 against RCB earlier this season.

75 – Sunil Narine recorded his highest IPL score with a 36-ball 75 which is also the 3rd highest score in his professional career. Narine scored 79 for TKR in the CPL 2017 and a 76 for Dhaka Dynamites in the BPL 2017.

245/5Kolkata Knight Riders‘ total of 245 is their highest in the IPL surpassing the 222/3 in their first ever IPL match against RCB in 2008.

This is also the highest total for any team against Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. The previous highest total was 240/4 by CSK also in the inaugural edition.

245/6 – KKR’s total of 245/6 is the highest in the IPL not to include a century and overall the joint 2nd highest in the Twenty20 format. Sri Lanka posted 260/6 against Kenya with the best score of 90 in the 2007 WT20 game. The previous highest score without a century in the IPL was 231/4 by DD also against KXIP in 2011.

330 – A total of 330 runs were scored in boundaries (35 fours and 31 sixes) in this match. These are the 2nd most runs scored in boundaries in an IPL game and the 4th most in a Twenty20 match. The CSK-RR match during the 2010 season in Chennai witnessed a total of 336 runs in boundaries.
