Chennai Super Kings inch closer to a playoffs spot with their 8th win of the season as they ended Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 6-match winning streak in Pune. The visiting side seemed to have enough on the board when they go to 179/4 in their 20 overs with the help of a big partnership between their top batsmen of this season Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan. However, Ambati Rayudu‘s unbeaten century and a 134-run stand with Shane Watson took the game out of SRH’s comfort zone.

Here we look at all the stats and numbers that were recorded during the game between Chennai and Hyderabad:

1 – Sunrisers Hyderabad lost their first match while defending a total in this season after winning on previous four occasions. No team has remained unbeaten in an IPL season while chasing or defending a total thus far.

3 – Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan pair became only the 4th pair to share three 100-run stands in an IPL season. Dhawan had three century partnerships with Gautam Gambhir in the inaugural edition. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers pair had five 100-run stands between them in 2016 while Kohli shared three with Chris Gayle in the 2011 season.

7 – Kane Williamson became the 3rd captain with seven fifty-plus scores in an IPL season. Virat Kohli (11 for RCB in 2016) and David Warner (9 in 2016 and 7 in 2015 for SRH) are the other two skippers to have achieved this feat.

62 – Ambati Rayudu’s 62-ball hundred is the 2nd slowest while chasing in the IPL. Kevin Pietersen needed 64 balls for his hundred while playing for DD against DC in 2012. Four other players needed more than 62 balls for completing their centuries while batting first in the IPL.

100* – Ambati Rayudu scored his maiden century in the IPL and also his first in the Twenty20 format. His 82 against RCB in Bangalore earlier this season was his highest score in T20 cricket.

123 – The 123-run partnership between Dhawan and Williamson is the highest partnership that ended on the losing side for SRH in the IPL. The 103-run stand between David Warner and Moises Henriques against RCB in 2015 is the only other century stand of SRH to end in vain. 14 out of the 16, 100-run partnerships for SRH in the IPL have been on the winning side.

134 – The 134-run stand between Ambati Rayudu and Shane Watson is the 2nd highest partnership for any wicket against SRH in the IPL. Kohli and de Villiers shared a 157-run stand for the 2nd wicket in the 2016 edition.
