The defending champions Mumbai Indians have always been a strong side in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are news makers of the tournament and are often in the headlines. At the IPL 2018 auctions, they have again made some very smart buys and look like a strong outfit yet again. Among the many new recruits the camp boasts of, the name of one cricketer from Rajasthan is creating serious ripples. And that name is – Taljinder Singh Dhillon.

In very short span of time, Taljinder Singh Dhillon has managed to make a name for himself. He has never played age group cricket for Rajasthan. But the 25-year old recently made it to the state side in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy this year. He has a career T20 strike rate of 152, which speaks volumes about his hitting abilities.

As per the quotes on the official website of the Mumbai Indians, Taljinder remarked that he is ready for the big challenge. He is currently playing for Reliance One in the corporate leagues. He noted that his current form is quite good and he recently won a Player of the Match award too. He is hoping to make crucial contributions in the MI camp as well.

“The preparation is good. Just recently, we won the DY Patil Cup and even here, we have qualified for the final (of the Goa Corporate League). The best thing is that all MI players are in good touch and are performing well,” Taljinder Singh Dhillon.

“I am in good form! In the last match, I scored a half-century and was the man-of-the-match. Before that too, I scored an unbeaten 37 runs from 15 balls so I think, overall it’s good. My only target is to make useful contributions to the team’s cause. And, it is my dream to make my team win the cup for the fourth time,” Dhillon remarked.

Taljinder Singh Dhillon is ready!

Speaking further on the same note, he feels that he is ready for the IPL. In fact, he made a very bold statement that he is keen on hitting long sixes for Mumbai Indians, just the way he does for team Rajasthan in the domestic cricket.

“I’d like to just tell them to be ready. The way I hit sixes for Rajasthan in the Ranji Trophy, I’ll hit those for MI too,” noted the well-built cricketer.
