The Indian Premier League (IPL) is just two and a half weeks away. The 2018 edition of the tournament promises to be a big affair this season. The tournament kicks off in the first week of April with defending champions Mumbai Indians taking on the Chennai Super Kings. With the tournament fast approaching, the teams are finalizing all their players and making official deals.

Over the years, the tournament has proven to be a heavy ask for the players. Considering the time frame of the competition, the tournament has always seen a lot of players bowing out of the league due to injury concerns. This season, even before the tournament has commenced, an injury concern has hit the Mumbai Indians camp.

One of the new recruits of the Mumbai Indians has been ruled out of the season owing to an injury. Australian speedster Jason Behrendorff has been ruled out of the competition. He certainly is disappointed to miss out on the big opportunity. In a recent social media update, the pacer who had a dream T20I debut against India last year, wished all the luck to the MI camp. Also, he expressed his disappointment over missing the big opportunity.

Here is what Jason Behrendorff tweeted:

“I’m disappointed not to join the @mipaltan at this year’s IPL. Unfortunately my back has kept me out a bit longer than we thought & hoped, but rehab is going really well & I can’t wait to get back & play some cricket soon! All the best to the MI family for the tournament!” Jason Behrendorff wrote in his tweet.

Mumbai Indians wish him a speedy recovery

Meanwhile, the Mumbai Indians camp were not far behind either in wishing a speedy recovery to their new recruit. The official social media handle of the MI camp responded to the tweet posted by Behrendorff. In the tweet, they wished a speedy recovery for the pacer. Also, they thanked the pace bowler for his good wishes ahead of the tournament. MI have announced a replacement for Behrendorff.

“We wish you a speedy recovery and thanks for the best wishes! #MIfamily #CricketMeriJaan,” Mumbai Indians wrote in their response tweet.
