Preity Zinta has her religious beliefs and she implements them in her day to day life. She is the co-owner of the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) ever since the inception of the Indian Premier League (IPL) back in 2008. However, the franchise hasn’t been able to taste success and has flattered to deceive in all the seasons. Nevertheless, Zinta has been patient and has also been seen cheering vociferously for the team.
Meanwhile, she is also trying her heart out in ensuring that the franchise turns their fortunes around. Recently, she visited the Khajrana Mandir prior to Punjab’s match against Rajasthan Royals (RR), and offered prayers. The sacred place is the famous Lord Ganesha temple in the city. She went there with a scarf on her head in order for her to not get identified by the onlookers.
However, the move didn’t work and she was eventually recognized. Thereafter, the Bollywood actor requested the fans to not create any commotion surrounding her presence. The 43-year old heroine was later reported to have been accompanied by one of the security guards. Nevertheless, one of the priests obtained the CCTV footage of Zinta and made a social media post of her presence.
Zinta’s prayers have worked off to a significant extent as the Kings have had a stupendous campaign having won six out of their nine games. They are sitting pretty in the third position and are among the favourites to not only qualify for the playoffs but also win the championship for the maiden time. Last night, they played against the Royals and managed to beat them by six wickets at the Holkar Stadium.
Ajinkya Rahane’s men could only muster 152 runs in their allotted 20 overs courtesy of Jos Buttler’s half-century at the top of the order. During their run-chase Punjab stumbled and lost wickets at crunch moments. However, KL Rahul’s awe-inspiring knock of 84 not out ensured that the home team traced down the target with as many as eight balls to spare.
