The Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) were knocked out of the tournament after they failed to win their last league game against Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The curtains were down for them when the hosts crossed the 100-run mark in the chase as Punjab had to register a victory with a margin of 53 or more runs to trump the Royals in the points table. The co-owner of the team and the Bollywood actress Preity Zinta was obviously disappointed after the game but at the same time was proud of her team for the way they played throughout the season.

She has been at the centre of all the action throughout the season this year ever since the mega-auction took place earlier this year. The gorgeous actress was also present in the stands for all the matches to support and motivate her team who had started the season exceptionally well but unfortunately lost the sheen towards the end. They were at the top of the points table at the one stage after winning five matches out of 6. But then managed to win only a solitary victory in the remaining games which haunted their qualification chances big time.

Preity’s favourite team

Preity Zinta, however, is now backing the MS Dhoni-led CSK to clinch the trophy as she revealed the same in her latest tweet when she was live on social media for a chat with her fans. One of the users asked her about the team she is backing to go all the way in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this year to which the Bollywood actress said that she would love to see Dhoni lay his hands on the coveted title being his big fan. “I like all teams as long as we are not playing against them but I am a big @msdhoni so I’m happy to see him shine,” her response read.

CSK will face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first qualifier of the season at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.
