Rashid Khan was undoubtedly the best performer for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the second qualifier which kicked the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) out of the tournament. The sensational player from Afghanistan did everything that his captain asked of him on the night and single-handedly took his team to the final where they will lock horns against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Sunday. While Rashid has earned a lot of respect with his on-field heroics, the video of home refusing to have Champagne during the celebration has won many hearts now.

After such a brilliant performance, there were grand celebrations at the team hotel and no wonder the wily leg-spinner was at the centre stage. Rashid was made to cut the cake with a congratulatory message written on it for the SRH and then was subjected to cake facial which has become a trend nowadays. While the celebrations were in progress, the Sunrisers member offered him a Champagne and Rashid duly refused to have it.

Rashid Khan is a religious individual and promoting or endorsing alcohol brand is forbidden in Islam, forget touching or drinking it. The video of the same is going viral and deserves all the accolades coming his way. This is not the first time when a cricketer has refused to have alcohol during the celebrations after the victory. The likes of Moeen Ali, Adil Rashid and even Hashim Amla have never endorsed an Alcohol brand and they also stay away from the team during the celebrations.

Here’s the video:

The final showdown

CSK and SRH will fittingly play the final of the tournament. Both the teams were at the top of the points table after the end of the league stage. They have been playing some consistent cricket throughout the season and the spectators at the Wankhede Stadium will be surely treated with a humdinger on Sunday.
