The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has been in tremendous form in the Indian Premier League (IPL). They have emerged victorious in five out of their seven games in the tournament and are currently placed in the second position of the league table. They managed to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and are brimming with confidence.

The Punjab bowlers dictated terms to the Sunrisers batsmen as Ankit Rajpoot nipped out the prized scalps of Kane Williamson and Shikhar Dhawan which put the skids under the home team. Thereafter, Shakib Al Hasan and Manish Pandey churned out a half-century partnership, which threatened to take the game away from Ravichandran Ashwin’s men.

However, the Punjab bowlers held their nerves and restricted the hosts to an under-par score. Meanwhile, Rajpoot picked up a couple of more wickets in the final over, which didn’t allow the Sunrisers to give a finishing kick to their innings. During their run chase, Chris Gayle and KL Rahul, yet again, blazed away as the Sunrisers stared down the barrel for their third defeat.

A stupendous triumph by the Sunrisers

Rashid Khan drew first blood when he bowled a classical delivery which ripped past the outside edge of Rahul and cannoned into the stumps. To the agony of the Sunrisers, Chris Gayle was nipped out by Basil Thampi, which brought the hosts back into the game. The remaining Punjab batting imploded as the Sunrisers kept bamboozling one after the another.

The Orange Army eventually registered yet another comprehensive victory. Following the win, the team celebrated the same with a cake-party and Manish Pandey released a video where the team has been seen jubilated. In the video, Zoravar, Dhawan’s son smears cake on Pandey’s head. He is also seen wearing the Sunrisers helmet.
