Suresh Raina is the lifeline of the Chennai Super Kings team in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has had a rather indifferent season thus far, he started off with two average outings then missed out a couple of games due to an injury which was a first. Raina hurt his calf muscle while fielding in the second match that kept him out of action for the next two matches.

He returned for the game against Rajasthan Royals at their new home ground in Pune and made it count with an unbeaten 46. In the next match, the southpaw scored his first half century of the IPL and remained not out against Sunrisers Hyderabad and another unbeaten 75 against Mumbai Indians but has been pretty average since then.

Raina probably was missing lady luck, his wife Priyanka and daughter Gracia weren’t with him. But they are back and he announced it with an Instagram post. He calls them his lifelines and they are united again.

The CSK vice-captain posted- My lifelines are back❤️ @rainagracia @priyankacraina #Love#Gracia #mijnliefdes #pinkcity #jaipur”

Raina in the India T20I squad for Ireland and England

The day brought another good news for Suresh Raina as the Indian squad was announced for the tour of Ireland and England. He features in both the teams and that shows the team management trusts his abilities in the shortest format of the game. The Men in Blue will set off on the tour of United Kingdom in late June. They will first play two T20Is against Ireland and then fly to England for the T20I series that will be followed by ODIs and Tests.

Raina will want to use the remainder of the IPL to regain his consistency that will help him with the national team. The T20Is should be a platform for the 31-year-old to impress the selectors enough to regain his place in the ODI team as well.
