The Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the most established and popularized Twenty20 leagues contested in India, as compared to the anticipation for the other T20 leagues. For IPL 2018, Twitter has introduced specific emojis for all the eight franchises part of the competition this year, based on their taglines. The newly designed IPL themed Emojis are looking to be exciting and trendy and the fans will surely be looking forward to supporting the trend released by Twitter.
They have chosen a ‘Whistle Podu’ emoji for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) as the fans recognize the team by that tagline very well, along with the ‘KKRHaiTaiyaar’ and ‘Hallabol’ Emojis for the Kolkata Knight Riders and the Rajasthan Royals fans respectively. Different stylish and eye-catching emojis have been designed by Twitter for all the eight IPL franchises to make the greatest carnival of T20 cricket a rejuvenated look.
An action-packed first week of IPL 2018
The IPL 2018 got off to a flying start, as the Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo played an explosive knock in the opening encounter to win the game for his team. Kings XI Punjab and KKR also recorded their first wins of the tournament on the second day in two thrilling encounters. Both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have also started their campaigns on a high, after losing their crucial players due to the ball-tampering scandal involving their two Aussie captains.
The first 12 games played so far has seen a nail-biting finish and thoroughly entertaining and competitive cricket contested in each game. The overseas cricketers and the local Indian players have also enjoyed and relished the journey with their respective new IPL franchises in this year’s edition.
