IPL 2019: A fan breaks into tears after meeting MI captain Rohit Sharma

The 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has given us many moments that will remain etched in our memories for a long time. Both on and off the field, players and fans alike have made this IPL 2019 a tournament that is a week old, something amazing. Fan are who make this T20 league so much popular.

One of the franchises, which has a huge fan following is Mumbai Indians, who have won the Indian Premier League thrice under the leadership of their mercurial captain Rohit Sharma. Rohit was brought by the Mumbai Indians (MI) in 2012, after the dissolution of Deccan Chargers and made captain midway in 2013 season. Since then, MI has lifted the trophy in 2013, 2015 and 2017.

For a fan meeting their beloved stars is an experience that is beyond words. Mumbai Indians have always been one to involve its fans in their activities and their E2A (Education to All) initiative is a blessing in disguise for the children to make their wishes to watch MI in action on the field.

MI have always been in the forefront of letting fans access the stars and arrange meetups and greets with the team players. One such incidence saw a bunch of fans getting to meet the owners of Mumbai Indians, Nita and Akash Ambani and along with them, the captain of the franchise, Rohit Sharma. A video was shared by a fan account on Twitter in which some lucky fans got to meet their hero in the Wankhede Stadium.

A fan couldn’t control his emotions on meeting and hugging Rohit Sharma and burst into tears during the meetup. Rohit Sharma and others including the owners were seen smiling during the process.

As for the MI’s performance in the IPL 2019, they have won two matches out of four played and recently defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Wankhede Stadium to become the first team in IPL to register 100 wins. Mumbai Indians next play Sunrisers Hyderabad in Hyderabad on April 6.
