Mumbai Indians had a disappointing season last year where they didn’t even make it to the top four. The team has often been accused of being slow starters who pick up pace only in the latter half of the tournament. However, they have turned the tide this time around. After indifferent first three games, they’ve been on a roll, losing just two out of their last eight games.
This has taken them to the second spot with 14 points. They are just one win away from sealing a playoff berth. They are two points behind the top-ranked Chennai Super Kings (CSK). However, they have also played a game less than CSK. Hence, as the IPL moves into the final week of the group stages, Mumbai are in with a very good chance of topping the charts.
They next play Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. They have a very good record against KKR and at the Eden as well. Hence, they would love to seal a playoff spot with two games to go.
Ben Cutting trolled as he wears MI’s latecomer pants
Mumbai Indians (MI) have a custom where late-comers need to wear special pyjamas as punishment. In the last couple of years, quite a few players have received the punishment for turning up late and have had to wear these special pyjamas. Ben Cutting became the latest MI player to receive the punishment.
However, Cutting took it in a sporting way as he termed those pyjamas as very comfortable. Mumbai Indians travelled to Kolkata for their next game and Cutting had to wear those pyjamas. Hence, MI’s official twitter handle trolled Cutting for his comment on comfort. Cutting said, “I’m probably the most comfortable tourist today. I like it. I’d probably wear it on the next trip as well. I’d like to take it back home as winter pyjamas.”
MI twitter handle posted the video and quoted, “Pants so comfortable that they need no cutting. Right, @Cuttsy31?”
