MI lost their first game again
Mumbai Indians (MI) have not won their opening game of the season since 2012 and the infamous record continued this time as well. They conceded the match by 37 runs to the Delhi Capitals at the Wankhede stadium on Sunday while chasing a mammoth total of 214 runs. Rishabh Pant was their nemesis who slammed an unbeaten 78 off just 27 balls with seven fours and as many sixes.
In the chase, only Yuvraj Singh batted well and scored a half-century but none of the other batsmen could support him. Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya hung around but that was not enough for the three-time champions. They next face the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Chinnaswamy stadium now and it will be interesting to see who gets off the mark in the season as both the teams have lost their respective first match.
