After a winless streak for Virat Kohli’s Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 12th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), it’s apparent that the Bangalore-based franchise needs a miracle to turn their fortunes around. Having lost all four games on the trot now the Bengaluru team is the only side this IPL season who are yet to open an account.

Their latest defeat against the Rajasthan Royals cemented Bengaluru’s spot in the bottom of the IPL’s points table. No wonder the RCB skipper received a lot of flak following this disastrous show of a performance in the IPL 2019. Needless to say, fans are now full of doubt regarding the team and the captain’s credibility. The rest of the cricketing world is, besides sceptical, also critical about the Royal Challengers Bangalore’s poor form.

However, India’s World Cup winning captain and former cricketer Kapil Dev maintains that Virat Kohli has the experience to make a miraculous back. Kapil has backed the current Indian skipper to move past the horrendous start and to bounce back in the next fixtures.

Kohli will be back, opines Kapil Dev

The Bengaluru-based franchise with the ten games still in hand can still up their ranks in the IPL 2019 contest. Kapil Dev has backed the RCB skipper, who has just managed 78 runs from four games at a poor average of 19.50 at a less than run-a-ball strike rate. “A positive person will say it was a bad phase and now it’s over. Maybe he needs a stroke of luck and the kind of experience he has, I am sure he can handle all this. He knows his game and I am sure he will be back,” Kapil was quoted as saying by India Today.

The runners-up of the 2016 IPL season have faced both batting and the bowling woes with both departments looking lacklustre. Their next fixture in this IPL season is against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bangalore. Against the Dinesh Karthik-led KKR side, RCB will be eyeing to claim their maiden win this IPL season and put an end to their horrid barren streak.
