Royal Challengers Bangalore has one of the best fanbases amongst all teams in the Indian Premier League. The loyalty of these dedicated fans hasn’t faltered even in RCB’s most dismal performances. Especially in this IPL season where the Bengaluru-based franchise lost their first six fixtures in a row. The official handle of the RCB has tweeted a video of their captain Virat Kohli and star batsman AB de Villiers giving a message to their fans.

The RCB team was the first to get knocked out of the IPL 2019 contest after their last match against the Rajasthan Royals was washed out. So the team will play their last game of the season against the Sunrisers Hyderabad on Saturday at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore.

De Villiers and Kohli promise fans a better next season

Ahead of their last fixture of the season with SRH, skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers went on to apologise to the fans for their performance in a recorded video message. “RCB fans, thank you so much for the support throughout the season, you guys are incredible. Virat will agree to the fact that the last game with the rain, it was only a 5-over game but one of the most memorable games in my life and it wasn’t even the result. Thanks to you guys”, AB de Villiers said.

The former South African captain also expressed that they’re hoping to finish the season on a winning note and will make up for the disappointment in the next season. To quote De Villiers: “Sorry about the up and down performances, we are hoping to finish on a high. Please keep supporting us, it keeps us going. Hoping something special is coming in the last game and next season.”

Virat Kohli thanked the fans for their support and said that the team will come out again next season and turn the tables. “Obviously it has been a disappointment for us and a disappointment for you guys(the fans) but like every season we will come out again next year and turn it around,” promised captain Kohli.
