The Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) have literally annihilated the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. While the home team pummelled 231 runs for the loss of two wickets shattering most of the records, their opponents never arrived at the chase and were bundled out for just 112 runs on the same pitch. Jonny Bairstow and David Warner were the heroes with the bat and Mohammad Nabi, playing his first match, returned with the figures of 4/11.

After being sent in to bat first, the carnage started for the SRH from the very first over. Warner and Bairstow got stuck into already poor bowling attack of RCB. The latter was hitting the middle of the bat from the word go and he made the most of it. Virat Kohli made frequent changes in the bowling but none of the bowlers could arrest run-scoring and the fielding from the RCB was utter shambles.

While Bairstow played his shots freely, Warner concentrated on placing the ball and ran fiercely for a lot of twos. The duo added a massive 185 runs for the opening wicket in just 16.2 overs to shatter a lot of records in the IPL history. Bairstow had a share of 114 which he scored off just 56 balls with 12 four and seven sixes. One he got out, it was all about Warner.

Even he reached the three-figure mark in the last over to remain unbeaten on 100 off 55 balls with five fours and as many sixes. On the back of two of the most enthralling centuries, the SRH posted a mammoth total of 231 runs which the RCB were never going to get.

Disastrous game sums up for RCB

There was a glimmer of hope for the RCB fans that their heroes Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will at least make the match interesting. But their batting was even more embarrassing. Inside the first eight overs, they had lost six wickets and were in a hopeless position at 35/6. Colin de Grandhomme and the debutant Prayas Ray Burman saved the face for them with a partnership.

But that was only to reduce the margin of the defeat which was anyways going to be huge. The duo added 51 runs for the seventh wicket before Barman was flummoxed by Sandeep Sharma. The RCB could eventually reach the score of 112 and failed to even play their full quota of overs.

RCB and Virat Kohli were heavily trolled by the social media gimmicks as they had a field day watching their bowling and batting being blown away.
