Kings XI Punjab thoroughly outplayed their fancied opponents to win the game by 8 wickets. Bowling first, the Kings XI did extremely well to restrict Mumbai Indians to 176 for 7 on a good batting track especially after Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock had added 52 runs in just five overs for the first wicket. Spinner R Ashwin and M Ashwin had impressed with the bat, conceding just 25 and 26 runs respectively. In reply, the Kings XI chased down the total with more than an over remaining.KL Rahul starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 71.

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, beat Kolkata Knight Riders via Super Over after a thrilling tie at the Feroz Shah Kotla. Chasing 185, the Delhi Capitals were well on their way when Prithvi Shaw departed in the 19th over after scoring a sublime 99. However, Delhi Capitals could not score the 6 runs needed in the final over and had to depend on the Super Over. After the batsmen scored a modest 10, Kagiso Rabada bowled superbly to defend the target.

Both the teams have the momentum and the confidence with them as they will be eyeing to capitalise on them. Kings XI Punjab have a slight advantage over Delhi Capitals in the head-to-head ration of this fixture. In 22 meeting between these two teams so far, Kings XI have won 13 compared to Delhi’s 9. Kings XI’s record in Mohali is even better, having won 5 of the 6 games against Delhi.
