Gayle was representing Kolkata Knight Riders back then. The unbeaten 99 is one of the top ten scores in the IPL for Gayle but the only one came on the losing cause.

The last two instances of AB de Villiers batting against the Kings XI Punjab were on April 13th; both while chasing a total. In 2018, RCB were in hunt of a 156-run target in their home ground. On Saturday, they were behind a target of 174 to register their win. In 2018, RCB were needing 47 from the last five overs while this time around it was 48 runs. The South African top-scored with 57 in the 2018 game, while this time, he scored an unbeaten 59 and stood out as the Player of the Match.
