The most difficult task for the management when the team is losing games on a trot in picking the eleven. The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), captained by Virat Kohli, have tried out all possible combinations in the six games this year of the Indian Premier League (IPL). However, nothing seems to be working for them and the side is staring at an embarrassing record.

If they lose the match against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP), that would be the most consecutive defeats for a team at the start of an IPL season. Even though Dale Steyn has been added to the squad, the South African will only join the squad on the 19th of April. Hence, the Bangalore team will have to contend with the existing set of players and will look to pick the best possible eleven for the upcoming game.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB):

Openers (Parthiv Patel (wk), Virat Kohli (c))

Parthiv Patel is the most experienced keeper in the RCB squad. Even though he hasn’t been at his best in this season, RCB has got no option but to persist with him. The left-hander has got to change his approach and anchor the innings in what is otherwise an aggressive line-up.

Virat Kohli played a very different knock in the last match. He hardly looked to take any chances in the initial part of his innings. The idea would have been that he’d accelerate towards the end which, of course, didn’t pay off. The skipper seems to have gone in a complete shell at the moment and needs to play his natural game.

Middle Order (AB de Villiers)

AB de Villiers will bat at number three. The former South African cricketer, who is supposed to be the backbone of the team, hasn’t unfortunately been one. ABD is getting out to poor shots which is highly disappointing. Rather, he should look to play risk-free cricket in the initial parts of his innings and capitalise later on.

All Rounders (Marcus Stoinis, Moeen Ali, Colin de Grandhomme, Pawan Negi)

The RCB team could be fielding a lot of all-rounders for this game. They need the depth in the batting line-up and the skipper also needs to have a good number of bowling options. Thus, Marcus Stonis, Moeen Ali will continue in the eleven. Stoinis is due for a big one both with the bat as well as the ball. The conditions in Mohali will suit his style of play. Ali might even get to bowl all his four overs in this match.

Colin de Grandhomme is expected to be back in place of Tim Southee. The Kiwi cricketer needs to deliver with the bat for his team and will assume the role of a finisher. Pawan Negi will continue in the eleven and the long boundaries will help him to put a lid on the run-scoring.

Bowlers (Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal)

Since Tim Southee is likely to be left out, it creates a void in the bowling attack. Thus, Umesh Yadav is expected to come back. He is good with the new ball and has got a recent record against Chris Gayle. Navdeep Saini has been impressive in the last few matches and will retain his spot.

Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal will complete the bowling line-up. Siraj has got a lot of backing from the skipper and Virat trust the pacer’s abilities. The oppositions have been smart with the way they are dealing with Chahal. He needs to find new ways to pick wickets up now.
