Rishabh Pant returned back to form with a fine knock in the seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday. The Delhi Capitals wicket-keeper was under pressure to deliver since the opening game of the season when he smashed 78 not out from just 27 balls against Mumbai Indians. In the next five games, he just could not deliver before proving his worth with a matured knock at the Eden Gardens.

The southpaw scored 46 runs and stitched a match-winning partnership with his senior teammate Shikhar Dhawan to help Delhi inflict a heavy defeat on the two-time IPL winners. Pant will now be looking to make the most of the knock against Knight Riders when his team takes on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on Sunday. And it looks like the wicketkeeper-batsman is all geared up to put up a good show in Hyderabad.

Pant is looking set to light up the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium with a special willow. A special text was seen on Pant’s bat when he was practising for the forthcoming game. At the bottom of the bat, the text read – Virat Kohli – captain of the Indian team as well as Royal Challengers Bangalore. With no sponsors logo on the bat, it is very much likely that Pant has received the bat as a gift from his senior teammate.

Pant’s last meeting with Sunrisers

Rishabh Pant will definitely have very fond memories of playing against Sunrisers. The last time he was up against the Hyderabad-based team, he had scored his maiden IPL ton. The southpaw, who had finished the last season of IPL as the second highest run-scorer, had scored 128 runs from just 63 balls with the help of 15 fours and seven sixes. His effort, however, had gone in vain as Sunrisers had won the game by nine wickets while chasing 188.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, will be looking to extend their winning run when they take on the Sunrisers. The Shreyas Iyer-led side have won their last two games while the Sunrisers have lost their last two.
