Defending champions Mumbai Indians and Royal Challengers Bangalore will be looking to start their respective campaigns on a winning note when they lock horns in the first match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021. The first match of the 14th edition of the IPL will take place at Chennai’s MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Mumbai Indians are once again looking like the team to beat this season. The five-time winners are looking to become the first-ever team to win the IPL thrice in a row. The reigning champions will be without Quinton de Kock for the game since he is in quarantine and looks set to be replaced by Chris Lynn.

Barring de Kock, all the big names are available for selection. Royal Challengers Bangalore, on the other hand, are looking to win their first-ever IPL. The Bangalore-based outfit had made it to the playoffs last year and will be looking to build on the success. They have been boosted by the addition of new players like Glenn Maxwell, Dan Christian, and Kyle Jamieson and will be looking to start the season on a good note.

Below mentioned players can provide you an upper hand or can be considered as multipliers in your Dream11 fantasy team:

1. Hardik Pandya:

Hardik Pandya had a stunning outing in IPL 2020 where he scored 281 runs at an average of more than 35 and a stunning strike-rate of almost 179. It was followed by his stunning display in Australia. Pandya did not really look at his best in the recent series against England but did play some impressive cameos. The all-rounder could once again become the difference in the upcoming game. And unlike IPL 2020, Pandya will contribute with the ball too in this year’s tournament.

2. Glenn Maxwell

Perhaps no player will garner as much attention this year as Glenn Maxwell. All eyes will be on him as the Australia all-rounder looks to justify his huge price tag in IPL 2021 after failing to do well in IPL for years. Despite being one of the most destructive batsmen in the world, Maxwell has failed to deliver as per his reputation in IPL.

But the RCB have given him another chance to prove himself and the hard-hitting batsman will be keen to prove them right. A good start to the competition will set the tone for the remaining games and Maxwell will be eyeing exactly that.

3. Suryakumar Yadav

For the first time in his career, Suryakumar Yadav will be playing the IPL as a capped player. He made his debut during the T20I series against England and impressed straightaway. The right-handed batsman has been one of the most consistent batsmen in the IPL in the last three years or so. He scored 512, 424, and 480 runs in IPL 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively. With form on his side, Suryakumar will be eyeing a good start to the season.
