The 42nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will put the Delhi Capitals against the Kolkata Knight Riders in the Saturday doubleheader at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Looking at KKR’s run this year, from the 10-run over win over the CSK, the 2-run win over the KXIP, or the Super Over heist over the SRH, if there is one thing that has favoured them, it has been luck. However, they have been facing a host of issues in their unit.

While Nitish Rana has not been able to provide the reliability expected from a number 3, Eoin Morgan and Dinesh Karthik, despite some crucial knocks, have not been able to strike consistently. In this game, they are coming after registering the lowest-ever total for any team in the IPL history without being dismissed, against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in their last game. The latter reduced them for 84 for 8 before cruising to a victory to increase KKR’s vulnerability to slip out from the slot of contention.

On the other hand, the Shreyas Iyer-led Delhi Capitals have hardly anything to worry with the playoff berth being a mere formality. The Capitals have a never-ending list of positives this year, and the same is well-reflected in their position at the table, where they sit atop with 14 points from 10 games. However, despite all the positives, they are coming in this encounter after a 5-wicket defeat against the KXIP.

For you to be able to pick the perfect Dream11 team, here are three players you can afford to exclude for the KKR vs DC game:

Nitish Rana (9 credits)

Although a promising contender otherwise, Nitish Rana has not been able to get into rhythm thus far. With 184 runs at a dismal average of 18.40 in 10 games, his form has been fluctuating and he has not been able to perform much with the willow. Further, given that there are better options to choose from a rather big window of match-winners that KKR has, Rana, is better excluded from the team than included.

Pat Cummins (8.5 credits)

He might be the big-match player, the million-dollar man, and one of the most lethal pacers in the modern era, but Pat Cummins has certainly not been in the best of his forms this year. Otherwise a genuine wicket-taker, Cummins has not only lacked the lethality to grab wickets, but he has also been leaking runs more often than not. With merely 3 wickets in 10 games at an economy rate of 8.22, Pat Cummins won’t be the most ideal choice for you to proceed with.

Prithvi Shaw (8.5 credits)

Prithvi Shaw has not been able to continue his good run despite getting into a rhythm in the middle phase of the tournament. He got consecutive half-centuries, but a string of low scores has followed ever since, and he has been struggling to stay at the crease. Shaw has 209 runs in 10 games at 20.90, which is certainly not an impactful performance given his batting position.
