MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings are the most consistent side in the history of Indian Premier League, having progressed into the playoffs on 10 occasions. The Chennai franchise is the only IPL team to qualify for the playoff stage in each edition of their appearance in the league.

In their illustrious IPL journey, CSK have clinched the IPL 2020 trophy thrice, only one less than Mumbai Indians. Amongst the players who’ve been a part of CSK’s IPL voyage, Ravindra Jadeja has played their indispensable part. With his all-round brilliance, Jadeja has been a vital cog of CSK’s wheel.

The Saurashtra star has been a consistent performer for the Yellow Army since shifting his base from Rajasthan Royals. Jadeja, at the moment, is just 73 runs short of 2000 runs in the IPL. To top it off, he also has 108 IPL wickets to his name.

Jadeja is on the verge of the 2000 run-mark in the IPL. Once he reaches the milestone, he will become the only all-rounder to have 2000 runs and 100-plus wickets in the IPL history. To acknowledge Jadeja’s outstanding show in both the departments, CSK honoured him with a golden sword.

Playing for this amazing franchise is an honour: Ravindra Jadeja

Jadeja is known for his jubilant sword celebration which he has flaunted on multiple occasions. The left-hander is currently in the UAE, waiting for the season-opener of IPL 2020 where CSK are scheduled to face defending champions Mumbai Indians. Jadeja, meanwhile, shared a video to flaunt the award.

The 31-year-old all-rounder shared a video of the sword, at the bottom on which it was engraved: “Ravindra Jadeja ‘The Rajput Boy, only Indian player to get 100+ wickets and 1900+ runs in IPL. Most wickets by any left-arm spinner in IPL: 108 wickets.

“Thank you to the @chennaiipl team for bestowing me with this award. Playing for this amazing franchise is an honour and an opportunity I cherish. Looking forward to the season,” wrote Jadeja along with sharing the clip.

After their first encounter, CSK will face Rajasthan Royals on 22nd September, followed by Delhi Capitals on 25th September. The Yellow Army is expected to deliver an impressive performer this year and grab their fourth IPL trophy.
