Only 10 days are left for the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the overseas players have also started joining their respective teams. Only players from England and Australia will arrive late (on September 17) and are likely to miss the first match of their teams. As far as the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are concerned, three more foreign players of their team are set to join them soon.

The likes of Dwayne Bravo, Imran Tahir and Mitchell Santner will reach the United Arab Emirates on September 12 after the conclusion of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Several IPL-bound players including the trio took part in the CPL which is set to end on September 10 (Thursday). After arriving in the UAE, even they will be expected to be in quarantine for six days and return negative for COVID-19 multiple times.

The Times of India reported the news of CSK’s CPL-bound players reaching UAE over the weekend. Among them, Bravo is set to take part in the final of the tournament to be played on Thursday. The title clash is to be played between the Trinbago Knight Riders and St Lucia Zouks.

Imran Tahir represented Guyana Amazon Warriors who lost the semi-final clash against the Zouks while Mitchell Santner’s team, Barbados Tridents, failed to qualify into the knockouts.

How did the CSK trio fare in CPL 2020?

As far as the performances are concerned, all these three players are in some sort of form with the ball. Tahir, as expected, was amongst the wickets throughout the tournament picking 15 scalps in 11 matches at an exceptional average of 15.93. Santner’s all-round capabilities were at fore as he scored 145 runs in 8 innings at an average of 48.33 and also picked six wickets.

CSK’s death overs specialist Dwayne Bravo hasn’t set the stage on fire picking nine wickets in as many matches but will be keen on performing well in the final. Moreover, the trio is match fit now and the CSK franchise will be looking to make full use of them in the upcoming season.
