Delhi Capitals (DC), led by Shreyas Iyer, have had an impressive journey so far in the on-going IPL 2020. Barring a 15-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad, the Delhi side has registered three victories in the UAE and is currently sitting second in the points table.

Delhi, a side bolstered by several youngsters, is looking in good touch this season. In their previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders at Sharjah, Shreyas Iyer’s men put up a dominant show with the bat. The skipper, leading from the front, slammed a blistering 88 as Capitals gathered 228 runs on the scoreboard.

In reply, KKR managed to amass just 210 as they handed two vital points to the Delhi-based franchise. With multiple in-form batsmen including skipper Iyer in their artillery, DC will be eyeing to secure the top spot when they face Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in 19th match of the tournament.

DC and RCB, poised at second and third spot respectively, are hoping to climb up to the top of the pile when they face each other today at Dubai International Stadium. Ahead of their clash against a dominant-looking RCB side, Delhi have even released a new jersey.

Partnering with JSW Paints, Delhi have added a dash of colours on the front of their normal jersey. The franchise revealed its new apparel through an Instagram video featuring many star players– skipper Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ajinkya Rahane.

“Dilliwalon, we are adding more colours to our vibrant game Here’s to celebrating a beautiful partnership this #IPL season with @jswpaints, as we endeavour to #EmbraceEveryColour,” wrote DC along with sharing the video.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, have also suffered a major blow ahead of their game against RCB. Their vital cog and one of the most experienced players of the tournament, Amit Mishra has been ruled out of the season owing to a tendon injury. Mishra had injured his finger while attempting to take a diving catch against KKR at Sharjah.

He managed to bowl just two overs and also scalped the crucial wicket of a dangerous-looking Shubman Gill. But after the game, reports came out suggesting that the veteran has suffered a tendon injury, ruling him out of Delhi’s campaign this year.
