IPL 2020: Fan climbs barricades to shake hands with MS Dhoni at Chepauk stadium

Indian Premier League 2020 is just 24 days away from its commencement and all the eight franchises have begun with their practice for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league. Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, who has not played a single competitive game since 2019 World Cup semi-final has also hit the ground once again.

Recently, during a practice session of Chenna Super Kings, he was spotted doing practice in the nets at Chepauk stadium. But before hitting the nets, Dhoni was spotted doing warm-up by taking rounds on the ground. And, it was the time when a fan breached security to shake hands with his favourite cricketer.

Dhoni, the veteran Indian cricketer has a massive fan following across the country. But, one place where people religiously follow him is in Chennai. The majority of the fans were eagerly waiting to watch their hero back on the field. However, after a long wait of eight months, they got the privilege to watch Dhoni back on the field batting in the nets.

He has been leading CSK since the cash-rich T20 tournament came into existence and Dhoni is rated as one of the best skippers in the history of the league, who has helped his side in winning three IPL trophies. Moreover, they are the only side to play most number finals until now.

Fan breaches security for MS Dhoni

Now, when IPL is just weeks away from its kick-off, the former Indian skipper began with his preparations at Chepauk stadium. And, the fans came in huge numbers to watch their hero once again on the field. In the meantime, an instance happened when Dhoni was jogging on the sidelines of the ground. A fan from the crowd breached security, climbed barricades and ran towards MS Dhoni in order to shake his hands.

Moreover, CSK skipper in a heartwarming gesture fulfilled the wish of his fan as he shook hands with him. Later on, he also waved his hand towards the crowd that received a loud roar from the spectators sitting in the stands. The IPL schedule is already out and the curtain raiser will be played between Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, who were also the finalists of the previous season at Wankhede Stadium on March 29.
