IPL 2020: Match 10, RCB vs MI – Match Impact Ratings

The 2020 IPL continues to provide top class entertainment as the game between RCB and MI ended in a Tie before RCB clinching the Super over. Though Ishan Kishan and AB de Villiers’ knocks were the top from respective sides, it is Kieron Pollard who held the best impact rating according to the CricTracker’s Impact model. The Caribbean all-rounder smashed an unbeaten 60 from 24 balls coming in at No.6 position. This helped Pollard earn an impact rating of 31.38 which is twice that of Ishan’s 15.45.

The Jharkhand keeper-batsman made a slow start and reached his fifty in 39 balls which cost him slightly in his impact rating. AB de Villiers was the star of RCB whose knock got an impact rating of 21.84 which helped RCB to reach 200. Shivam Dube’s 27* off 10 came as a surprise as the all-rounder smashed three sixes in the last over helping him to earn a rating of 14.5. Despite scoring the winning runs in the Super over, Virat Kohli, the RCB skipper got the worst impact rating in the match.

Kohli’s three runs coming off 11 deliveries got him a negative impact rating of -14.54 in a match where no other player even had a double-digit negative impact. Quinton de Kock came close to that as he struck just one four before falling for a 15-ball 14 in this high-scoring match. It earned a –negative impact of -9.72. Each of MI’s first four dismissed batters had an impact rating of -3 or lower. To many people’s surprise, both the RCB openers also earned negative impact despite scoring fifties.

Devdutt Padikkal finished with 54 off 40 balls but was scoring around run-a-ball pace until Virat’s dismissal. Aaron Finch, on the other hand, made 52 off only 35 balls, yet he got an impact of -2.69. The Aussie scoring just 12 runs from his last 13 balls which cost the team a couple of useful runs in the middle overs. The Australian pacer James Pattinson had the worst impact rating among the bowlers in this match as he conceded 51 runs in his four overs without picking up a wicket.
