The Mumbai Indians (MI) didn’t start off this edition of the IPL on a great note. They conceded a 5-wicket win to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the opening game. However, they managed to get back on track without wasting much time. The team was highly clinical in the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and registered a 49-run win, which was also their first victory of the tournament.

In their upcoming game, the Indians will be up against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The Bengaluru franchise is coming into this game on the back of a huge loss against the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Thus, MI will look forward to taking advantage of this situation and carrying the winning momentum forward.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Mumbai Indians (MI):

Openers (Rohit Sharma (c), Quinton de Kock (wk))

Rohit Sharma put up his class on display in the last game. He scored 80 runs off 54 balls in a knock that included 6 sixes and 3 fours. He was instrumental in helping MI put up a massive total on the board and will love to play a similar kind of knock once again.

Quinton de Kock, meanwhile, missed out against KKR. The left-hander was outdone by Shivam Mavi on the third ball that he faced after he scored just 1 run. However, MI will continue with him as the opener for the sheer impact that he can have on the game once he gets going.

Middle Order (Suryakumar Yadav, Saurabh Tiwary)

Suryakumar Yadav will bat at number three and played a very good knock in the game against KKR. He looked to be in sublime touch, was hitting everything out of the middle of the bat but his innings came to an end courtesy a run-out. Yadav mustered 47 off 28 balls before he was dismissed.

Saurabh Tiwary has been fulfilling his role well at number four and is a part of our Predicted Playing XI. He has played some quickfire knocks. While he scored 42 runs off 31 balls in the first game, he raced his way to 21 off 13 balls in the previous match.

All Rounders (Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard, Krunal Pandya)

Hardik Pandya, thus far, hasn’t made much of an impact with the bat or the ball. He got the starts but failed to convert those into big ones. The all-rounder was dismissed in a sheepish manner against KKR as he got out hit-wicket. Moreover, he hasn’t had much to do with the ball as yet and will be hoping to bowl a couple of overs soon.

Kieron Pollard, along with Hardik, will take up the role of a finisher in this line-up. He hasn’t got much of an opportunity to prove his prowess as yet. However, he has been hitting the ball quite well. Krunal Pandya, meanwhile, seems to be finding it tough to find his rhythm. MI will hope that he comes good in the upcoming game.

Bowlers (James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah)

James Pattinson has had a decent first two games and has accounted for three wickets. His economy rate of 6.50 has also been quite impressive. Rahul Chahar also picked up 3 wickets so far and is the first-choice spinner for MI. The team will hope that he maintains a better economy rate in this encounter.

Trent Boult has done well with the new ball in hand and even he has got three wickets in two games. Jasprit Bumrah, on the other hand, seems to have found back his rhythm. He was brilliant in the last match even though Pat Cummins took him for a few cleaners towards the end.
