The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to take action between the KL Rahul-led Kings XI Punjab and the Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians. Though KXIP have been giving their sheer best in the tournament so far, they somehow have received more blockbuster innings from the opposite end. In their very first match only, they went through a Super Over, and luck didn’t favour them.

In their third outing, they scored a huge 223, but in return, the Rajasthan Royals owned the game like a King. Now they are all set to face Mumbai Indians, who are also coming after suffering a blow of Super Over against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

Both teams will be walking up while maintaining all the balance in their teams to shine out. Since most of the players from Punjab are faring well, there aren’t many changes expected in their side for the match in Abu Dhabi.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Kings XI Punjab for KXIP vs MI game:

Openers (KL Rahul, Mayank Agarwal)

Skipper KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal are currently moving on at the top of their game. Mayank’s terrific knock of 106 off 50 and Rahul’s 69 off 54 pushed the team to cross all limits and put a handsome 223 on board against RR. The skipper is most likely to form the part of playing XI of Punjab in the next match.

In fact, KL and Mayank are currently leading the individual scoreboard in the race for the Orange Cap. Rahul is at the top with 222 runs while Mayank sits next to him with 221 runs. The great batsman, Agarwal, is most likely to be part of playing XI of Punjab against Mumbai Indians.

Middle-order (Karun Nair, Nicholas Pooran, Sarfaraz Khan)

Though Nair hasn’t produced anything significant in the IPL 2020 so far, he is been expected to shine out well, and provide strength to the team in the middle order. He did not even get a chance to bat in the last match, and therefore, it will be too early to say he is not performing. He will probably be part of the Punjab eleven in the next match.

Khan didn’t feature in all the games of IPL last year and hasn’t even gathered anything remarkable in this year’s IPL journey. Even he didn’t get the chance to show up with willow in the last match. He is expected to display some decent potential and will likely be part of Punjab’s playing side.

Pooran’s cameo of 25 off eight balls stunned the opponents as he helped his team breach the 200-mark. Apart from showing great a display in batting, his save at the boundary was breathtaking and invited attention from many big names of the game. He is most likely to feature for Punjab in the next game.

All-rounders (Krishnappa Gowthan and Glenn Maxwell)

Having capacities with both bat and ball, Maxwell can shine out at any moment for the Punjab team. He hasn’t scored much in this IPL, but his thunderous season in 2014, where Punjab reached the final is a thing to remember. He can replicate the class anytime soon and is expected to land up in Punjab’s playing XI for the next match.

Though Krishnappa Gowthan didn’t feature in Punjab’s last match, he may replace Neesham for the match against Mumbai Indians. He carries decent capacity with both bat and ball and has scored 164 runs in total 23 IPL matches he has been part of. He also has 12 scalps to his name in the tournament. He is likely to get the chance with Punjab against Mumbai.

Bowlers (Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi, Sheldon Cottrell, Mujeeb Ur Rahman)

If there is one man in the bowling section who is leaving no chance unturned to bring his top game, he is Mohammed Shami. He has been constantly picking wickets for his side and even achieved his career-best figure in IPL by scalping three wickets and conceding just 15 runs against DC. He will most likely play with the team against MI.

Ravi Bishnoi, the talented youngster, has been doing a job fine in IPL 2020 so far. He has marked his debut in this season of IPL and expected to get over the line in the spin-attack. Apart from the last match, he has been successful in picking wickets for his team and will most probably play in the next match for the Punjab franchise.

Sheldon Cottrell has also marked his debut in this IPL season and was doing quite well since a nightmarish incident happened with him in a match against Rajasthan. Rahul Tewatia hit him for five sixes in an over and broke all his spirit and energy. However, he may find a place in the playing XI of Punjab against MI.

The Afghan star, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, may find a place in Punjab’s playing XI in the match against Mumbai Indians. He has been part of 16 IPL matches so far, and he picked 17 wickets in due course of time. Seeing the spin-friendly pitches of UAE, he can expect to play his first match of this season.
