The 29th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place between Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in Dubai. The three-time champions, CSK, are still not able to understand what is going wrong with them as they are losing one game after the other.

Their last outing against the Virat Kohli-led Royal Challengers Bangalore also saw how their batting collapsed, and they again failed to chase down the target. The Sunrisers also fell weak in their last match as Rajasthan turned the course of the game during the last few overs. When CSK and SRH met the last time in IPL 2020, Hyderabad had the upper hand and they won by seven runs.

If CSK are aiming to qualify for the playoffs in any case, they need to get the next match in their bag somehow. However, the team, captained by MS Dhoni, is most likely to walk up to the field with the same set of players as that of the last match.

Here is the Predicted Playing XI for the Chennai Super Kings for SRH vs CSK game:

Openers (Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis)

CSK are quite dependent on their openers, Shane Watson and Faf du Plessis, to perform well. If anyhow the openers fail during run chases, the entire batting gets burdened. Also to add in, the Super Kings emerged victorious the last time when Watson and Du Plessis caused all the damage against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP).

Seeing their capabilities and forms in their previous matches, Watson and Du Plessis would come up with CSK in the next outing. And it goes without saying that the yellow brigade will again be pinning hopes on the opening pair.

Middle-Order (Ambati Rayudu, N Jagadeesan, and MS Dhoni)

It’s a clear and straight thing that CSK need to work on their middle-order woes to get themselves going in a better manner. Though Rayudu played a significant knock of 42 runs in the last match, he couldn’t match up with the required run-rate. He will be looking to be a bit more fluent in the upcoming contest.

N Jagadeesan played his first IPL match in CSK’s last game, and he scored a reasonable 33 runs with his bat. He might be trusted by the team management, in the next game too, for providing strength to the yellow army’s middle-order.

The form of the legendary skipper, MS Dhoni, continues to trouble the team. He is expected every time to finish things for them, but he hasn’t been able to do the required job. In his last game also, he scored mere 10 runs before getting out. Let’s see if he is able to lead the team in the way fans are expecting him to do from day one of IPL 2020.

All-rounders ( Ravindra Jadeja, Sam Curran, DJ Bravo)

Ravindra Jadeja has blown hot and cold with the bat so far in IPL 2020. His form with bat and ball remains essential for the team. In the last game, he neither picked a wicket nor made a significant contribution with the bat. He would most probably show up with Dhoni’s men in the face-off with SRH.

England’s Sam Curran has made decent contributions to the team on many occasions. The young man is expected to level up his game a bit in both batting and bowling to help his team in better ways and he would, most likely, be picked by the team for the next clash.

Bravo got the chance to show up with the bat for the first time in IPL 2020 during the last game. However, he was not able to get anything good under his belt. Apart from his bowling, he is known for some big hitting at the end. He is expected to do well in the upcoming match.

Bowlers (Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, and Karn Sharma)

Deepak Chahar has been shining with the ball so far and is expected to give something big to the team with the new ball. In his last match too, he conceded just 10 runs in three overs and picked a wicket. He will most probably be walking up with the team in the next game as well.

Shardul Thakur has been showing up for the team for the last few games, and he has done a reasonable job for them. He got two scalps to his name in the last match also and is expected to join the team for the next game. The right-arm spinner, Karn Sharma, is filling in the shoes of Piyush Chawla for Dhoni and his men.

He has gotten two scalps to his name in the matches he has played for Chennai in this season. He might come up again with the team if the management doesn’t want to bring back Chawla for the next match.
