Chennai Super Kings (CSK), somehow, managed to hold on to their mathematical chances of qualifying for the playoffs in the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL). The team, captained by MS Dhoni, thrashed the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by eight wickets on Sunday, October 25 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

However, the Yellow Army still have some distance to travel. After being put in to field first, the CSK bowlers did an excellent job, restricting the Challengers to 145 for the loss of six wickets. Virat Kohli scored a 43-ball 50, but RCB couldn’t get a decent score.

In the run-chase, the Yellow Army took the RCB bowlers by the scruff of their necks and chased the target down with eight balls to spare. The Challengers are now placed third in the points table.

Here are the CSK Player Ratings for the RCB vs CSK match:

Ruturaj Gaikwad- 9/10

Ruturaj Gaikwad started with a few dots, but once he got the measure of the conditions he creamed the RCB bowling without much fuss. The right-hander scored 65* off 51 with four fours and three sixes.

Faf du Plessis- 7.5/10

Faf du Plessis was the one, who injected momentum into the innings. The opener raced away to 25 runs off 13 balls with two fours and as many sixes. Chris Morris dismissed du Plessis to end his stay.

Ambati Rayudu- 7.5/10

Ambati Rayudu didn’t throw the kitchen sink at everything but made sure that he kept the scoreboard ticking. He scored 39 runs off 27 balls with three fours and two sixes before Yuzvendra Chahal got rid of him.

MS Dhoni- 6/10

MS Dhoni came to bat when CSK needed 33 runs off the last 39 balls. The skipper hit three fours and stayed unbeaten on 19 off 21 balls. The 39-year-old also did an excellent job as the captain on the field.

Narayan Jagadeesan- N/A

Ravindra Jadeja- 7.5/10

Ravindra Jadeja couldn’t pick up a wicket, but he was tough to pounce on. In the three overs he bowled, the left-arm spinner gave away 20 runs. He conceded one six and bowled four dots.

Sam Curran- 9.5/10

Sam Curran was the standout bowler for the Super Kings without a shred of a doubt. The left-arm pace bowler bowled at a rate of 6.33 and also dismissed Aaron Finch, Virat Kohli and Moeen Ali.

Mitchell Santner- 9/10

Mitchell Santner was tough to get away as he hit the right channels on a frequent basis. The left-arm spinner got rid of the dangerous Devdutt Padikkal and gave away a mere 23 runs in his four overs.

Deepak Chahar- 8.5/10

Deepak Chahar was pretty much on his mark. He was decent upfront and gave away 31 runs in the four overs he bowled. Moreover, he accounted for the wickets of AB de Villiers and Chris Morris.

Imran Tahir- 6.5/10

Imran Tahir couldn’t pick up a wicket in the four overs he bowled. But he didn’t give away many runs either. The leg-spin bowler churned out an economy rate of 7.50 to go with seven dot deliveries.

Monu Kumar- 2/10

Monu Kumar bowled a couple of overs upfront in his maiden IPL appearance this season. The right-arm fast bowler gave away 20 runs with three wides and was the most expensive bowler for the Super Kings.
