The 46th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will see Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)lock horns with each other. KXIP have bounced back in the tournament with utter confidence and class. They have got four victories on a trot and will be pouring their every inch of hard work to seal a spot in the playoffs. Their last game turned spectacular as they defended the lowest total of IPL 2020.

Their next opponents are Kolkata, who are walking in style after defeating table-toppers Delhi Capitals. With the team looking much in a balanced state and form, they won’t go for major changes until and unless required. It also remains to be seen whether Mayank Agarwal has recovered from his injury.

Predicted Playing XI of KXIP against KKR

The skipper KL Rahul has been leading his team well, and the team’s back to back victories have given him much strength. The Orange Cap holder for so long, the ace batsman, would definitely be looking forward to maintaining the winning streak. He has constantly fetched runs for his team and pulled them out of troubles.

The courage Mandeep Singh displayed during the last match was beyond words. He walked up with the skipper to open the order for Punjab in place of injured Mayank Agarwal. He lost his father a night before the match and still managed to show up for his team. He would be trusted again for his high spirit.

Middle Order (Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, and Deepak Hooda)

Since the time Universe Boss Chris Gayle has been included in the XI, the side has only triumphed again and again. He has shown consistent form with the bat too and would be seen with the team in the matches coming up for KXIP this season. His thunderous hits would be much awaited by the Punjab fans.

It would not be wrong to say that Pooran is turning to be the team’s hero in crunch situations. He has pulled the team out of trouble on several occasions and remained the highest run-getter from the team in the last match. With ace wicket-keeping and fielding skills, Pooran is quite sure to remain with his side. Deepak Hooda might get a place in the playing XI against Eoin Morgan and company to provide some strength to the middle-order

All-rounders (Glenn Maxwell)

Maxwell’s form with the bat is under the scanner but he showed some intent during one of the earlier games. Owing to his earlier heroics and international exposure, he is backed again and again by the management and they will be hoping for him to come good.

Bowlers (Mohammed Shami, Ravi Bishnoi, Arshdeep Singh, Chris Jordan, and M Ashwin)

Shami has been showing some serious consistent form for his team right from start. He has managed to scalp wickets in almost every match for KXIP and would continue forming their integral part. His pace attack is an asset for the Punjab team. Young spinner Ravi Bishnoi would also walk along with the team as he has impressed in his debut season. In the last game, he conceded runs at a splendid economy of 3.25.

Words would fall short one has to talk about Arshdeep Singh and Jordan for their last match heroics. Both of them got three wickets each for their team during the death overs to completely shift the momentum. Their sheer brilliance helped Punjab defend a paltry total, and the team grabbed valuable two points. They are set to play the next match. Even the leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin is a certainty to play.
