IPL 2020: MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi delighted after CSK demolish KXIP in Dubai

Losing three out of their first four games of the 2020 Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) found themselves in all sorts of trouble. Placed at the bottom of the points table, MS Dhoni and Co had to make a comeback in order to climb the latter. And they did exactly the same, beating the Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 10 wickets at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

CSK’s batting was a major point of concern prior to the game as barring Faf du Plessis, no one was able to play their game. However, on Sunday, October 4, the Yellow Army showed why they are deemed as one of the best in the business. In the first seven games of IPL 2020 in Dubai, no chasing team managed to secure a win. When KXIP elected to bat first, the odds were stacked against CSK.

MS Dhoni and Co make a comeback

When the Punjab-based team amassed 178 runs for the loss of four wickets in their 20 overs, CSK were in for another tough run-chase. Nevertheless. Faf and Shane Watson had other ideas. The duo put on an unbeaten stand of 181 runs from their 17.4 overs and guided CSK over the line with as many as 14 balls to spare. The Super Kings are currently placed sixth in the points table.

Faf and Watson started in an emphatic manner, scoring 46 runs in the mandatory powerplay. Once they got the measure of the conditions, they stepped on the gas and didn’t allow KL Rahul’s men to get a foothold back into the contest. Faf carried forward his good form, scoring 87 runs off 53 balls.

His stupendous knock was laced with as many as 11 fours and one six. Watson, the former Australian cricketer was out of form before the match, but even he got back his rhythm, getting 83 runs off 53 balls with the help of 11 fours and three sixes.

In the meantime, Sakshi Dhoni, MS Dhoni’s wife, was over the moon after CSK’s thumping victory. She uploaded a picture, involving Du Plessis and Watson to express her joy. She captioned the picture and wrote, “Class Act! #whistlepodu,”
