Yuzvendra Chahal is probably the most active Indian player on social media. Be it hilarious TikTok videos or Instagram Live sessions, Chahal makes sure that he hogs the attention. The leg-spinner was all over the news when he announced his engagement on August 8th with YouTuber and choreographer Dhanashree Verma.

Chahal was quite active on social media during the national lockdown and nothing seems to have changed. He still enjoys banters with his teammates on Instagram.

Chahal, on Friday, trolled RCB’s Director of Cricket, Mike Hesson, who denied him the opening position. He even shared a photo of locking Hesson in ‘Full Nelson’ during the net session. The Bangalore franchise, studded with a robust batting line-up, is expected to open with Virat Kohli and Devdutt Padikkal in this year’s IPL. “When you ask him to open the batting & he says no,” wrote Chahal along with the picture.

Yuzvendra Chahal hasn’t scored even one boundary in the IPL

Chahal, who had joined RCB in 2014, has only faced 48 balls in IPL so far. He has scored 21 runs in 84 matches and has the highest score of 4*. He hasn’t scored even one boundary in the league.

Talking about his bowling expeditions, Chahal has delivered impressive performances for RCB to become skipper Kohli’s go-to man. He is RCB’s highest wicket-taker and has 100 wickets to his name. After releasing Chahal ahead of IPL 2018 auctions, RCB used their Right to Match (RTM) card to retain his services.

Along with Chahal, RCB will also be strengthened by the presence of Adam Zampa, Pawan Negi and Washington Sundar in their spin department. However, Zampa might find it difficult to break into the Playing XI as an IPL team can only have four overseas players in their starting squad.

Despite having a star-studded squad, the Virat Kohli-led side has failed to clinch the trophy even once in their IPL journey. Kohli and his men will be eager to lift their maiden IPL title this season. RCB will kick off their campaign against David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad on September 21. All franchises including RCB have been training in Dubai for over a week now and they probably have finalized their Playing XI before the start of the T20 extravaganza.
