Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders will start their campaign in IPL 2021 by locking horns against each other in the third match of the ongoing competition. Both the teams will be looking to win their first IPL title since 2016 and 2014 respectively. In recent years, SRH have been one of the most consistent teams in the IPL and have made it to the playoffs on a consistent basis.
However, they have failed to cross the final hurdle. KKR, on the other hand, have been quite inconsistent. Since winning their second title in 2014, they have made it to the playoffs thrice in six seasons. In the last two editions, they finished at fifth and would be desperate to go past the league stage this year.
Players mentioned below can provide you an upper hand or can be considered as multipliers in your Dream11 fantasy team:
David Warner
No captain in the IPL has delivered with the bat as consistently as David Warner. The southpaw will be integral to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s fortunes in IPL 2021 too. Last year, he was the highest run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad, scoring 548 runs in 16 games. Under his captaincy, SRH made it to the playoffs last year and he will be keen to guide his team to another IPL title this year. Warner will be looking to start IPL 2021 on a strong note with the bat.
Shubman Gill:
Shubman Gill will be garnering a lot of attention this year after facing criticism in the last IPL for his poor strike-rate. He had his most prolific IPL season so far last year when he scored 440 runs in 14 games. It was the first time Gill managed to score more than 300 runs in an IPL. He, however, faced criticism for his strike-rate of 117.96. Gill’s failure to provide quick starts at the top was one of the reasons behind KKR’s struggle last year. The youngster would be eyeing a good start to the season to set the tone.
Nitish Rana:
Another player who could make a big impression in the upcoming game is KKR’s Nitish Rana. The left-handed batsman had a decent outing in IPL 2020 where he scored 352 runs in 14 games with the help of three fifties. Rana has the ability to play both pace and spin with ease and also has the ability to play the big shots at any stage of the game. He is likely to bat at number three for KKR and could play a key role in deciding the outcome of the game.
