IPL 2021: 3 players to avoid in fantasy teams in RCB vs PBKS game

Royal Challengers Bangalore are all set to meet Punjab Kings in a league game of the Indian Premier League 2021 UAE Leg. For Bangalore, it will be a chance to make sure they booked a playoff spot while also eliminating a team that could potentially qualify for the playoffs. Here are three players to avoid in fantasy teams for the RCB vs PBKS game:

1. Mohammed Siraj

There is no doubt in the fact that Siraj has become a better bowler in the last year or so. The issue with his accuracy seems to have been solved since his international career took off. In the second leg of the Indian Premier League 2021, we have seen him bowl really well, but the rewards have not come yet.

In four matches, he has taken only one wicket. His economy has been around 6, which is incredible considering there was a time, not long ago, when he was considered as a weak link in Bangalore’s bowling unit. But, the kind of work he is doing on the pitch might not reflect on the fantasy points. He may pick any other bowler. 

2. Fabian Allen

Much like Siraj, Allen is not a regular wicket-taker in the format. Because he is being used in an all-rounder’s role, there are chances that he can still manage to score runs and help his team’s cause. However, his recent exploits suggest that Punjab is not able to use him properly either as a batter or a bowler. Until the last match, he didn’t bowl much but now he has been tasked to bowl four overs. He also had figures of 0 for 38 against Kolkata. Given all this, it doesn’t seem a bad idea to avoid him altogether. 

3. Nicholas Pooran

There isn’t really a huge concern around Nicholas Pooran’s batting but despite getting a lot of chances, he is failing to make a big impact on this side. In the previous match, he came at no. 3 with a hope that he might get good enough time to change the course of the match. But, he failed to do so. Also, the fact he is a wicketkeeper is also a bit of a concern. There is Srikar Bharat and KL Rahul, who are wicketkeepers as well in this contest and have some runs on their back. Given their presence, it seems a bit absurd that one may prefer Pooran in the team.
