The PBKS all-rounder has got limited opportunities due to the presence of Chris Gayle, Nicholas Pooran, Moises Henriques, and Chris Jordan. The wait could be even more frustrating during the UAE leg of the IPL due to new inclusions like Adil Rashid, Aiden Markram, and Nathan Ellis.

Allen, who is a regular member in the CPL is finding it difficult in making it to the playing XI. Allen is a utility player and also provides teams with a spin-bowling option. Also, he is a good fielder and can stop some crucial runs for the team.

He also made headlines by plucking a screamer of a catch during the 2017 CPL league. He was given a chance to play during the first half of the IPL but that was due to the non-availability of the foreign players.

Due to just his sheer brilliance in the field, Allen deserves at least one chance. Also, with Riley Meredith and Jhye Richardson missing, Allen can provide the team with all-round options.
