The Rajasthan Royals have signed West Indies opener Evin Lewis for the remainder of the IPL 2021. In 45 T20I matches, the left-handed batter has scored 1318 runs at a strike rate of 158.03. He is West Indies’ fifth-highest run-scorer in the T20Is. In his T20I career, the southpaw has hit 103 sixes and only Chris Gayle (121) has more maximums than him.

Evin Lewis is currently a part of St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the ongoing CPL 2021 tournament. The team has had an amazing start to their campaign and Lewis is currently the highest run-getter for the team. He has so far smashed 229 runs in the tournament with 73 being his highest score. The second leg of the IPL will be Lewis’ first stint with the Royals and overall second in the IPL as he was a part of the Mumbai Indians side in 2018-19.

Lewis has been in fine form with the willow and that can be a great positive for the Royals who will be looking to resume their campaign on a positive note. In the absence of many key names in the team, Lewis might prove to be a trump card for Rajasthan Royals in the UAE leg. If he opens the innings for the side, the flying starts by him can help the team to post a big target or chase on with relative ease.
